“Jaym-Jaym”, “Giggles”, “Jollylegs”, and most recently “Pipsqueak” (I called her that from stage during our last concert, and people afterwards kept coming up and calling her “Pipsqueak”!)…all these nicknames describe our little Christmas joy, Jayme. We celebrated her 10th birthday on December 22nd, and now she goes around exclaiming, “I’m a decade old!” 🙂 She had been counting down the days to her birthday for several months (yes, really!), and was so excited when the day finally arrived. Jayme was doubly excited when Grandpa Pete and cousin Noah were able to spend the day as well.
Jayme – December 22nd, 2011
Our little fiddler – December 20th, 2011
Jayme chose Psalm 62 as her psalm for the day:
For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken. How long will all of you attack a man to batter him, like a leaning wall, a tottering fence? They only plan to thrust him down from his high position. They take pleasure in falsehood. They bless with their mouths, but inwardly they curse. Selah For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God. Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. Selah Those of low estate are but a breath; those of high estate are a delusion; in the balances they go up; they are together lighter than a breath. Put no trust in extortion; set no vain hopes on robbery; if riches increase, set not your heart on them. Once God has spoken; twice have I heard this: that power belongs to God, and that to you, O Lord, belongs steadfast love. For you will render to a man according to his work. Happy Birthday Jaym-Jaym – we love you dearly!
Alas, the TGF blogger is behind, behind, behind! Our dear Mom’s birthday was October 21st, on which she, once again, turned 29+ years old. 🙂
Happy (belated) Birthday, Mom!
Mom at MWQA – October 21st, 2011
We were at the Midwest Quartet Convention during Mom’s birthday, so unfortunately, there was no cake, no ice cream, and only a handful of cards later that evening. 🙁 But there were plenty of birthday greetings from everyone who found out it was Mom’s special day!
The impromptu poster Dad and we kids made for Mom and hung up at our booth.
Here is the most unique birthday greeting Mom received during the convention:
(The Garms Family blogger is obviously catching up on birthday posts!)
A happy (belated) birthday to our friend, Mal! He turned 87 years old on August 7th, thus beginning our birthday season for 2011-2012. And since a picture speaks a thousand words, let’s allow several pictures do the speaking for now:
The two August “birthday boys”: Caleb and Mal.
We were so glad to be home to celebrate Mal’s birthday with him this year!
Happy Birthday to our precious friend, Mal! We love you, Mal! We’re with you on your journey though life and ageing, and thank God for your presence in our lives.
